Ein Simulationsvideo von MSC Software macht deutlich, wie entscheidend das Tragen von Schutzmasken zur Vermeidung von Tröpfcheninfektionen in Zeiten des Coronavirus ist.

Die animierte 3D-Simulation zeigt am Beispiel eines U-Bahnwagens, wie schnell und großflächig sich virenbelastete Partikel im Raum verteilen können. Im Video wird der Partikelausstoß einer sprechenden Person ohne Mundschutz dargestellt und dem Ausstoß einer Mundschutz tragenden Person gegenübergestellt.

Das Ergebnis: Bei einem ohne Maske geführten Gespräch liegt die Zahl der infektiösen Tröpfchen denen ein Gesprächspartner ausgesetzt ist um ein 70-faches höher als in einer vergleichbaren Situation in der der Sprecher eine Maske trägt.
