I have a CATDrawing file which has 7 links to CATProduct from 7 views- Right view, Left view, Bottom view, Top view, Rear view, Front view, Isometric View.However when i try to retreive the links through code i always get exception.
drawViewGenLink = drawView.GenerativeLinks;
drawViewGenLink.FirstLink(); //breaks here
The exception just shows "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component."
How can i know more on the issue and resolve. Please advise.

Hi

Does drawView really has links? (how do get the view? by Name?)
Have you checked this per watch or local window in the IDE?

Yes, it does have and my problem is resolved as there were Views which didnt have links and so it was just breaking. Added a null check to get the collection of link as it is required for me to proceed further.
